Project Rhino KZN announced that South African Youth Rhino Ambassadors and the World Youth Wildlife Declaration are heading to Vietnam in October.

Five Youth Rhino Ambassadors have been selected to represent South Africa and carry an important appeal to Vietnamese citizens and Asian government leaders to urgently bring an end to the rhino poaching crisis.

This is the first time South African youth have been invited to visit Vietnam – internationally recognized as a key consumer country and hub for the sale of rhino horn – and participate in a government-led demand reduction campaign. They will be guests of Operation Game Change, a joint Vietnam/US government initiative aimed at ending wildlife crime in Vietnam, especially rhino horn trafficking.

Chameleon Books launches crowd funding campaign for rhino rescue book  0

Cape Town based company Chameleon Books firmly believes that conservation starts with education for both children and adults.

They are doing a crowdfunding campaign which aims to raise money to do a print run of the Rescuing Rhino book.

https://www.thundafund.com/rescuingrhino

Rescuing Rhino is an illustrated story about an orphaned baby rhino, how he was cared for and eventually released back into the wild. The book deals with caring for orphaned wild animals and the plight of the rhino with fact and activity sections focused around the rhino and other orphaned animals. We have set up our rewards system in such a way that people who contribute to our campaign have the option of receiving books to donate to a charity/school of their choice.

In the build up to World Rhino Day, Judy will be holding a garden fundraiser in Cape Town on Sunday the 20th of September from 2pm to 5pm in order to raise funds for the campaign. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family to enjoy some fun in the garden, learn some history of the area and have a cup of tea with the Chameleon Books team.
