Vietnam to Mark World Rhino Day on Sept. 19 with Symbolic Rhino Funeral  0

In Vietnam, "Funeral for rhinos: Back to dust and sand" begins on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 8 am.

CHANGE, a Vietnamese NGO who partners with WildAid, has organized a creative event: “Funeral for rhinos: Back to dust and sand“. The event will include a funeral ceremony, where information and inspiration about the rhino’s status and why we have to protect them will be shared. Participants will go to public places for a march along the streets, carrying photos and banners calling people to stop using rhino horns, before getting to the “graveyard” where a symbolic burying will be held.

Vietnam is celebrating World Rhino Day with a “Selfie for Rhinos” competition!
In order to celebrate World Rhino Day coming up on September 22, and encourage Vietnam’s public to protect the world’s rhinos, Education for Nature-Vietnam (ENV) has partnered with International Rhino Foundation to launch the “Selfie for Rhinos” competition. Contestants are encouraged to take a ‘selfie’ and give a message inspiring their friends and family to not consume rhino horn.
